"The Fisherman" wins World Cinema Amsterdam's GoCuba Fund

Ana A. Alpízar's The Fisherman has been chosen as one of the winning projects of World Cinema Amsterdam's GoCuba! This accolade adds to the Prix Eric Jean and several coproduction interests that were attached to the short film during the last Muestra Joven.

Written and directed by Ana A. Alpízar (whose previous film just won BEST SHORT FILM at the China Women's Film Festival), this fila20's project is being produced by Reinel García Pérez and is currently at its preproduction stage. The movie tells the story of Tomás, a humble Cuban fisherman who is having a harsh winter at the open sea. For the sake of his family and against all odds, he needs to capture a fish tonight...

Congratulations to Ana and Reinel for the successful path they have designed for this project!
